An LA II in-situ on Essex Street

I may have walked or biked by this a thousand times without noticing what it was -- a now-rare outside LA II, the door of the Outlaw Art Museum, 161 Essex Street.

LA II: It's the details

What makes an LA II an LA II. No one else that wasted is going to spend this much time on the details.

Fresh Butcher Paper Post-up

This is Rivington Street near Forsyth. A piece of the brown paper, painted, was about half a block away, so this may still be fresh.

Another No Parking Sign Piece, Hooray!

The second one I've found; different nabe, different artist. Will it become a trend?
The backround image is the famous and ubiquitous Stay In School baby by A. Charles.

Big Time Black & White

These had to be tough to do without official sanction.

Ludlow Street: Black & White Rules

Nu? Bar-coded graffiti.

I like the tag text, I wonder what it means

I took this picture for a different reason, then I noticed the small tag at the bottom, Jesus Saver. I thought it was pretty cool.

Rare multilingual

The Hebrew-like characters appear to be being used as a font for English; Hebre, English, Korean or Japanese, I don't have a clue as to what it says.

Special Update: What is this called

Examples of this are on walls around Canal Street in New York. A painting on brown paper, then the paper cut out in the shape of the outline of the painting, and the cut out part taped to a wall. If you know the name of this style, please let me know.

My bike wandered into the shot

A banner with a strange device

What alien pistil and stamen combined to create this?

My quarry

You wouldn't think he gets five large to sign his name, would you?

Black and White

I love a good blanco y negro.

Use of existing features

I also like it when existing features of a surface are incorporated.

Devotion to art

The writer has to come by every week to make sure the tires have stayed in the correct position

picasso

Was Picasso tagging up this wall?

Keeping on top of things

Me riding on "official" "sanctioned" graffiti.

Toy

I don't know if this is commercial or graffiti or a plot or whatever.

Something a little different

This would count under my graffiti art definition if there were more of them. But it's certainly something new. Found in DUMBO, so it may have been done by a "real" artist.

A nice wall

Several generations of writers. Just a nice wall on a roof.

Writer Philosopher

The art is in the fancy letters, the philosophy in the plain text. Helps to know the difference.

Some Cake

This gentleman is "old school" and has gone at least "interboro" if not "all city."

Some Claw

This woman, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, parlayed street writing to her own fashion empire.
